San Manuel Miners

  The San Manuel football team picked up its third win of the season last Friday, defeating Miami on the road, 34 – 14.

  The Miners, now 3 – 6 on the year, threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more in the win. Quarterback Caleb Quintero passed for 209 and the three touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown while Julian Rodriguez ran for the other.

  The Miners’ defense finished with five sacks and three turnovers, including an interception by Abel Aguirre and fumble recoveries by Louis Chavez and Christian Estrada. Jose Moreno, Aguirre, Chavez, Mike Ochoa and Santiago Salazar accounted for the five sacks. Ochoa led the team with 10 tackles.

  San Manuel will host San Carlos in its season finale this Friday on Senior Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
