More postseason honors for Copper Corridor football players

Now that the 2014 high school football season has officially concluded, the release of postseason honors and awards rolls on. ALLSPORTSTUCSON.com, Tucson.com and American Family Insurance as selected by azcentral sports are the most recent organizations to name the players on their all-state and all-division teams.

The 2014 American Family Insurance All-State teams, which were selected by the azcentral high school sports staff, represent the best players in each division.

The following is a list of players, by school, named to the ALLSPORTSTUCSON.com, Tucson.com, and Am-Fam All-State teams:

San Manuel

• ALLSPORTSTUCSON.com Division V First Team:Francisco Medina (TE), Arian Rodriguez (WR), Roberto Guerrero (OL), Shane Kelly (P), and Antonia Montes (DB).

• ALLSPORTSTUCSON.com Division V Second Team:Brian Valdez (QB) and Antonio Gallagro (OL).

• Tucson.com 2014 All-Southern Arizona Team Honorable Mention:Shane Kelly, Armando Sierra, and Brian Valdez.

Ray

• American Family Insurance All-State First Team:Jacob Pace (Sr, OL), Destry Yocum (Sr, LB), and Steven Lucero (Sr, LS).

• American Family Insurance All-State Honorable Mention:Seth Harmon (Sr, DL), and Robbin Newman (Sr, RB).

Superior

• American Family Insurance All-State Second Team:Matthew Zavala (Sr, WR).

• American Family Insurance All-State Honorable Mention:Nicolaus Cruz (So, AP), Edgar Pacheco (So, LB), and Jalon Murray (So, DL).

Andrew Luberda began writing for Copper Area News Publishers (CANP) in February 2013 after working 15 years in Healthcare Financial Management. Andy covers sports for 11 high schools.
