The second-ranked and undefeated Mogollon Mustangs defeated the sixth-ranked Ray Bearcats last Friday night, 46 – 0. The last time an opponent shutout the ‘Cats was October 15, 2010, when San Manuel beat them, 28 – 0.
Ray has lost two-straight games to teams above them in the rankings; Gilbert Christian and Mogollon.
Five of the Bearcats’ seven games so far this season have been played against teams ranked in the top 10 of the AIA rankings. They are 2 – 3 in such games with wins against Superior (10th) and Valley Union (9th). They’ve lost to Mogollon (2nd), Pima (3rd), and Gilbert Christian (4th).
The Bearcats wrap up their regular season on road this Friday, playing at Arete Prep. The Chargers have only one win this season. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
