Hayden-Winkelman Little League officially opens 2023 season

    Over the weekend the Hayden Winkleman Little League had opening ceremonies for its 54th year of Little League.

  This year, seven teams were pulled together, although due to lack of participation, there will be no Majors baseball division.

  On the board for the Hayden Winkleman Little League is Anna Lopez as president; Anita Ortega is the secretary/safety officer; and Carol Lopez-Lorona is the treasure/player agent.

  Sponsoring the Small Maroon T-ball team is 5D Mining & Construction. Coaches for the team are Victor Sosa, Analisa Canisales and Miguel Estrada. The players of the team are Ezra Gallego, Miguel Estrada Jr., Michelle Fierro, Marissa Fierro, Selina Rivera, Aneya Gomez, Enrique Carmello and Josiah Franco.

  Sponsoring the Maroon coach pitch team is the Town of Winkelman. The coaches are Candice Gaona, Jonathan Laughlin and Sarah Romero. The players are Selenna Espinoza, Nathaniel Morrison, Nathan Alvarado, Angelito Gaona, Joseph Arbizo-Davila, Jasmine Laughlin and Emiliano Aralleno.

  Sponsoring the Gold coach pitch team is the Town of Hayden. The coaches are Mario Lopez, Selina Arbizo and Melissa Gonzalez. The players are Miah Lopez, Niko Rafael Baldenegro, Nathalia Baeza, Issac Gonzales, Robert Aguirre, Thomas Calderon, Alejandro Fernandez Decastro and Gabriel Baldenegro.

  Sponsoring the Pinstripe Minors softball team is Grupo Mexico Mining Asarco. The coaches are Anita Ortega and Camille Lopez. The players are Karianna Ortega, Kylie Garcia, Aubrey Garcia, Maddie Formo, Maiya Arbizo-Davila, Sonia Stice, Yeleyna Chavez, Azalea Cruz, Alyvia Lease and Pamela Lagunas.

  Sponsoring the Minors softball team is KGHM Carlota Copper Company. The coaches are Mitzi Ochoa, Armand Cruz, Aleyna Ochoa and Rene Ochoa. Players are Giuliana Cruz, Krissa Cruz, Breanna Cruz, Sienna Cruz, Sofia Oropeza, Marisela Sosa, Alessandria Islava, Aleah Ochoa, Arianna Ochoa and Yareli Aguero.

  Sponsoring the Copper Minors baseball team is CNSI Coppernet Systems Inc. and Capstone Pinto Valley Mine. The coaches are Ben Quesada and Armando Gomez. The players are Christopher Rivera, Stephan Gomez, Deis Skinner, Alejandro Estrada, Noah Garcia, “Jack” Guillermo Alvarez, Anthony Espinoza, Rodolfo Quesada, Aiden Islava, Orlando Aguirre, Naveen Gomez, Kolton Pool, Roman Castaneda and Aidyn Bailey.

  Sponsoring the Maroon Majors softball team is SRP and Eddie Tire & Automotive. The coach is Marisa Guzman. The players are Mykaela Canisales, Mariah Sosa, Isabella Oropeza, Maribel Gallego, Nadia Strickland, Ysenia De Los Reyes, Isabella De Los Reyes, Julianna Miglorie, Maya Hong, Jaya Rivera, Brystol Strickland, Anabella Strickland and Yisel Parra.

  Be sure to come out and show the Hayden Winkelman Little League some support this season!
