Travel over to the Winkelman Flats Public Park on Saturday, April 25, 2015 and enjoy guided birding and nature walks along the San Pedro with a festival celebrating the rivers of the Cobre Valley. The event will feature guided nature walks, a bird banding walk, live entertainment, vendor booths, food and amusements for the kids. The park is located on the corner of Highway 177 and 77 in Winkelman, Ariz. on the Gila River. The event is free and open to the public.

This years guided hikes leave from the Winkelman Flats Park at 6:30 a.m. for the bird banding walk, the other walks of the 7B Ranch and the San Pedro River Preserve leave at 7:30 a.m. The walks will take participants to areas that not normally open to the general public, these areas are well known to be habitats for many bird species and native wild life. This is an experience that cannot be missed. These walks will have people back to the flats just as the River Fest begins.

This year the festival will feature water slides, bounce castles, and rock walls for the whole family to enjoy along with food booths, outdoor demonstrations and live entertainment. For more information on the event, register for a walk or sign up as a vendor please contact the Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition, Mila Besich-Lira at 520-827-0676 or visit the event online at http://bit.ly/CobreValleyRiverFest.
