FLORENCE – Pinal County Public Works today said they are expecting road repairs to roads damaged by the flooding in San Manuel to be completed by the end of next week.

“Talking with our road engineers, they are telling me that work is progressing quite rapidly on the repairs needed,” Vice-Chairman Pete Rios stated. “If the weather holds out, crews are looking to be done by the end of the next week. That is very good news.”

On Wednesday, July 29, a large monsoon storm deluged the town of San Manuel. Avenue A, Avenue B, Avenue G and Webb Drive were severely damaged during the runoff from the storm. Estimated damage totals came in at $225.000. This past weekend, Public Works crews worked to remove debris from the roads and get the damaged areas ready for repair crews.

On Thursday, a contractor will be onsite cutting the asphalt around the damaged areas. An asphalt base will be brought in and crews will be placing that material on the damaged areas on Wednesday and Thursday.

Public Works asks all drivers to take extra caution when driving in the areas that were damaged by the storms and obey all signage placed by crews.
