Oracle – Based on the book, The Wall: A Parable by Gloria Jay Evans, the message of an all ages women’s retreat that will be held in Oracle on Saturday, Feb. 13, is all about the walls we build that prevent us from developing a relationship with God, ourselves and others.
The retreat is designed to be a day for you to get away, to be able to retreat from worldly stress, allowing attendees to be present for their own self and to God, and, to take time to reflect on the message of the retreat. In the morning sessions will be focused on understanding the blocks that have built relationship walls and the healing message through the forgiveness prayer. In the afternoon, attendees will renew, with skills learned from a presentation/ demonstration and handouts on communication skills that will give you the power to grow and prevent those block that build the wall.

Oracle Union Church is supporting the retreat which will be held at 700 E. Kingston St. in Oracle, at the Oracle Piano Society building, which is also known locally as the old Masonic Temple. Signs for the retreat will direct you to the address off of American Ave., across from the Oracle Library. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for registration and the retreat will begin at 9 a.m., continuing on until 3:30 p.m. The cost for attendance is $10, which will cover cost of lunch, breaks and materials.

While late registrations will be accepted at the door on the day of the retreat, pre-registration is preferred, to ensure that enough materials will be on hand for everyone. To pre-register, mail a check made out to Oracle Union Church with “retreat” written on the subject line to Jane O’Mahen, P.O. Box 5043, Oracle, AZ 85623.
