Mt. Vista School will be sending five students and two first grade class projects to the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF) regional Science Fair week. The students winning the 2014-2015 Science Fair and representing Mt. Vista are: fifth grade, Amy Soule; sixth grade, Jesus Burrell; seventh grade, Phaius Wolgast; seventh grade, Mikayla Martin; eighth grade, Victoria Flores. The science students are being mentored by Julie Formos.

SARSEF fair week is being held at the Tucson Convention Center from March 19 through March 24. It is open to the public and admission is free. The students will get to have a great learning experience and an opportunity to win prizes including scholarships, trips and cash. It is also a good opportunity for the students to bring recognition and publicity for their school.

This year’s Mt. Vista Spelling Bee Champion is Phaius Wolgast. He will be representing Mt. Vista at the County Spelling Bee in Florence.
