The Superior Optimist Club hosted the 11th annual Miracle on Main St. Light Parade and festival. Mother Nature provided the back drop, with a multicolored sunset that set the stage for the annual event. There were a total of 12 entries in the parade. Winning the parade competitions were: First place, St. Francis of Assisi Church choir, second place, grandchildren of Imelda Vasquez, and third place went to Emma Sanchez the 2014 St. Francis Church Fiesta Queen.

Steven Byrd, a sophomore at Superior High School entertained the crowd for a while with his new rap songs. The young man is a budding performer from Superior. Manny Guzman kept the music flowing and members of the Superior Chamber of Commerce caroled in the early afternoon.

Santa visited with all the children who visited him in Besich Park, each child left with a goody bag full of treats. This year the park received many electrical improvements that allowed the club to improve the lighting display; the Optimist Club plans to continue improving the display now that the electrical infrastructure has been completed.

The event would not have happened without the support of many sponsors and volunteers. The Superior Junior High Student Council stepped up to help this year. The group helped with decorating the park, filling the goody bags and helped on the day of the event.
