Adelante Juntos to host Cinco de Mayo celebration

Superior is definitely well known for the frequency and variety of community events throughout the year.  Adelante Juntos is a new locally based non-profit started by Robert “Veto” Cervantes and Alex Romero.  Their vision and mission for their non-profit is to host more cultural events throughout the year.

Last year, they hosted a few Tardeada events (afternoon parties) that focussed on the rich Hispanic culture of Superior.

“We are excited to host a much larger Cinco de Mayo celebration this year,” explained Alex Romero.  “Over the year we raised additional funds and received some donations that helped us to expand the event for this year.”

The Cinco de Mayo event will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Besich Park from noon to 9 p.m.  The event begins at noon and will feature DJ Tiger entertaining everyone.  There will also be food and novelty vendors and piñata busts for the kids.  Superior Dance Company will perform 2-4 p.m.   The event will conclude with an evening of dancing and fun with Powerdrive Band 5-9 p.m.

Romero explained that Adelante Juntos de Superior is planning to host other cultural events such as Italian and Greek festivals in the future.  Their hope is to share the rich traditions of not only the Hispanic culture but also learn more about other ethnic heritages through their non-profit.

For more information on Adelante Juntos de Superior or the upcoming Cinco de Mayo event, please call Alex Romero at 480-383-3038.
