On the early morning of Nov. 6, 2020, our beloved, devoted father, Gilbert “Huero” Denogean, went peacefully to meet the Lord.

He was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Superior, Arizona to parents Alfredo Denogean and Rosa V. Denogean. Lovingly surrounded by his extended Denogean family and after losing his mother at three years of age, Huero grew up in Superior where he met his loving wife, Teresa, and started their family.

Gilbert went on to work for Kennecott Copper Company in Ray, Magma Mine in Superior, and Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company in Christmas, AZ, and later in Miami, AZ, where he retired after 30 years of working as a hoist man operator. He had a strong work ethic and thoroughly enjoyed his job.

After retiring, Gilbert kept busy panning gold, adding to his coin collection, reading his Arizona Highways magazines, visiting his beloved grandchildren, taking trips with them and enjoying his retirement years. He was a doting Tata and was so very proud of his children and grandchildren. He instilled in us all to acquire an education that he did not have the opportunity to pursue.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Teresa Urquieta Denogean; son, Gilbert Jr.; grandson, Angel; and brothers, Arturo, Alfredo and Cesar.

Gilbert is survived by his daughters, Terri (Henry) and Cynthia (Joe); daughter-in-law, Natalie; and siblings, Mary, Hector, Octavio and Conchita. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Henry (Irina), Brianna, Nia and Justin; and his great-grandson, Henry, along with sisters-in-law, Maria and Hortensia; brother-in-law, Neto; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

We love you so very, very much Daddy. Thank you for being such a loving, generous, caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We will miss you so much but know you will once again be with your “Honey”, son, and grandson. God bless you Daddy, Vaya con Dios.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with Rosary following at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Interment will take place immediately after at Fairview Cemetery.
