Hayden’s Meals on Wheels program has been a great success.

Hayden-Winkelman Unified School District received some great news this week and will be able to continue delivering and serving free meals for 18 and under through Dec. 31 as part of an extension of the free summer meals program for children. Hayden-Winkelman School District will be delivering meals to 11 different stops throughout the Copper Corridor.

HWUSD Food Director Barbara Martinez said, “What this means is all children 18 years of age and under can receive a free breakfast and lunch every day, Monday through Friday. Friday meals will be picked-up on Thursday. Last summer we served over 300 students throughout the community. The free meals program and delivery provides the District the opportunity to make sure students are not hungry while doing their online learning this fall.”
