Enjoy the artwork of three local but world-renowned artists and art instructors, Pat Dolan, Danielle Neibling and Lewis Schnellmann. All three artists have also taught community art classes at OrCA.

The exhibit will run from Dec. 1 through Jan. 20 at the Oracle Center for the Arts, 700 E. Kingston St., Oracle. The opening is set for Sunday, Dec. 9, from 1-4 p.m.

My job as an artist is to give a voice to the voiceless endangered animals, birds and their habitats. These concerns are expressed by my choices of animals that I portray with which I feel a soul bond. When I draw these animals, I experience such a strong connection with them that it is as if their essence was coming out through my hands. This is expressed in the energy of my ‘mark making and surface veils of color’. My works are visual prayers, asking the viewer to see these animals and to remember that once humanity felt a connection to all life and lived in a way that sustained all creatures. If we remember these connections, we can create a future for all of us. www.patdolan.net

Through the creative process and artistic experimentation, I enjoy feeling an affinity to whomever or whatever I paint. I feel just as integrated in the realm of morphing abstraction, which is alive to me, always visually active- open to interpretation. Being up close to view, like a child or a pet, right on the floor or the ground is where I want the viewer to explore the spaces that are there in my work. To find space between shapes is to look intently and is the most interesting and joyful process of all.  Dneibling@q.com

My paintings are about the “Place”. Location is the subject matter that is the inspiration to create the artwork. It may be the color of the light or the colors of shapes of the shadows being cast or the shimmer of the reflections in water. I use my skills in the handling of the medium, to present to the viewer what I believe is the ultimate aspect of the beautiful. I hope to transmit some similarity of my sensations, which I experience about the “place”, to the viewer through the artwork. Lschnellmann@msn.com
