On Wednesday, May 11, the Mountain Vista Orchestra, under the leadership of music teacher Kaitlyn Miller, performed its spring concert. Students performed Can-Can, Frer Jaques, Bile em Cabbage Down, New World Symphony, and Celtic Dance.
The musicians who performed were, on Violin: Kacie Branum, Joana Cano, Mia Dale, Daniella Godbout, Giselle Goga, Yasmine Goga, Veronica Gomez, Merri Haley-Brown, Alondra Jaramillo, Ayanna Ruiz, Sienna Soza, Lilly Stanford, Angelina Tilly, Trinity Psalms, and Tianni Whitman; on Viola: Garry Dadow, Garison Daily, Jaidyn Martinez, McKinley Sterling, and Phaius Wolgast; on Cello: Luciana Chavez, Jacob Leighton, Jacob Reynoso, and Zachary Riddle; on Bass: Cyndal Anderson and Polo Martinez.
This is the first year for the Orchestra at Mt. Vista School, and under the leadership of Miss Miller, they have done an amazing job.
The Ballet Folklorico de Mountain Vista, under the instruction of super volunteer Suzanne Smith, also performed. They danced El Rascapatate, El Gall9o, Las Coronelas, El Gallito, El Huateque, Jarabe Tapatio, Los Chipinaces, and La Raspar.
The dancers were Cyvia Cabrera, Elena Hendrix, Sophia Maestas, Natalia Sanchez, Sophia Smith, and Moriah Villalba. New to the dance troupe this year were Alycia Denogean, Lilly Denogean, Adrian Griffin, Mylee Hendrix, Lexiana Salazar, Samico Salazar, and Dezmarae Shepherd.
The performance was a wonderful end of the year celebration that was enjoyed by family, friends and staff.
