Attention all you adventure seekers out there. Get ready to strap yourself in and fly down Mt. Lemmon at the speed of sound (screaming, we assume, either in abject joy or total fear, but exhilaration nonetheless).
Arizona Ziplines Adventures will soon be open! The lines have been hung and tested and preparations for the Grand Opening are being made.
The zipline located on Mount Lemmon Road is the site of the first and longest Eco Zipline Tour in Southern Arizona. The central location and building is known as Peppersauce Station and will be the hub for exploring and enjoying the backside of the Catalina Mountains. The station is on what was once a working cattle ranch in the historic area located above Oracle and the San Pedro Valley.
Peppersauce Station includes the eco-zipline tour, gold panning, hiking trails and team building activities for corporate, family and school groups. The building houses a gift shop, full kitchen, wood burning fireplace and a 3,000 square foot enclosed porch overlooking the San Pedro Valley and Galiuro Mountains. Oracle Patio Café will provide deli style food during the week with special hot food menus available on weekends. Areas of the station will be available for rent for parties, corporate meetings, special events, etc. Nearby activities include the Arizona Trail, Peppersauce Cave and campgrounds, Mt. Lemmon, Oracle State Park and Biosphere 2.
The Eco-Zipline Tours include six separate ziplines ranging in from 400 feet to 1,500 feet in length and speeds from 20 to 45 miles an hour. Team building activities include 65 foot tall giant swing poles and a low rope course. The gift shop will be selling local merchandise including honey and arts & crafts. There will be camping and hiking equipment for sale, lanterns, flashlights, ice, batteries, propane, etc. A gold panning area is set up with trommel and sluices. You can pan on site or rent the panning equipment. The area was once the site of numerous mining ventures; gold and silver was found here.
Peppersauce Station and Arizona Zipline Adventures is owned and operated by Charley Goff, Emily Goff, David Thompson and Brandon Luthy. Michael Reddish, owner of Adventure Rope Gear in Oracle, was a big help with his consultation and support of the project.
