Pinal County– Central Arizona College will conduct a Work Readiness Seminar on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at its Superstition Mountain Campus (805 S Idaho Road, F Building Room 115, Apache Junction, AZ) from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“This event is geared towards individuals that desire to be employed, stated Ann Mitchell, Coordinator of Student Employment. “Workshops will assist you in creating the necessary documents, how to make a lasting impression at interviews and how to narrow down career options. It will also provide attendees an opportunity to speak with employers to determine the type of employee they desire.”
The seminar will begin with a presentation on a Multi-generational Workforce by Jim Rhodes, Director of the Small Business Development Center.
Breakout sessions will focus on interview skills, how to find a job using technology, skills assessment, resume writing, mock interviews and understanding temporary services; services staffing agencies provide.
An employer roundtable discussion will be held following lunch. Organizations and companies will describe career opportunities and answer questions from the audience.
“If you’re a 50+ aged individual that has struggled with finding employment, a college student looking to be employed, or a community member that needs some extra help or training, then make plans to attend,” stated Joel Beck, Coordinator of Lifelong Learning. “This event is designed to prepare individuals to meet with potential employers during CAC’s 7th Annual Job Expo at the Superstition Mountain Campus on September 16, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.”
