Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center would like to proudly announce a wonderful achievement made by one of our Directors: Debra Pace RN, BSN.

Debra recently was selected as the recipient of the “2015 Chris Blackert Outstanding Rural Nurse of the Year Award” for her dedication and wonderful spirit by the Arizona Perinatal Trust.

RoseAnn Garcia, Chief Nursing Officer here at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center sent in a nomination letter that best states why Debra was so deserving of this award:

“Debra Pace’s passion for excellent patient care, education, staff training & education, and community involvement has been instrumental in supporting Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center’s commitment to serving our region with Quality, Efficiency, & Care.

She is a leader that has worked diligently to elevate staff competency and skill set recognizing that rural health nursing requires knowledge that extends beyond departmental “doors”. She consistently models the behaviors that exceptionally represent the discipline of nursing as well as performing as an expert OB clinician and patient advocate. Deb recognizes that the success of her team translates into a positive patient experience in which quality and compassion is ALWAYS the standard. Her success in fostering and developing a strong and dynamic relationship between colleagues, her staff and physician, ensures that each patient receives the best possible care, her staff feels confident and supported, and our physicians trust in the delivery of care they desire for each and every patient.

In addition to leading her department with Evidence-Based practice, she has adopted and updated care standards and patient education set by professional organizations such as the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses & American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This scientific support ensures that patient care is current, appropriate, and safe.
I feel truly fortunate to work with a nurse who exemplifies all our discipline aspires to represent and am confident our staff and our patients are in the best possible hands due to Deb’s leadership and commitment to patient care.”

Both Debra and RoseAnn will be attending this year’s Annual Perinatal Conference on August 13th and 14th to accept this award in person. We could not be more proud. Congratulations Deb!
