On Thursday, April 16, 2015 at about 6:10 p.m. a two vehicle collision occurred on US 60, milepost 228.2 east of Superior.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Quentin Mehr, at that time a Ford SUV was eastbound on US 60 in the area of milepost 228.2. The driver of the SUV, Toni Zamore, 56, of Superior, for unknown reasons, drifted left over the road centerline and ran head on into a Toyota passenger vehicle, driven by Ross Brantner, 34, of Tucson. Both vehicles went off the westbound shoulder of the road.
Toni Zamore died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. Ross Brantner was treated at the scene for injuries.
Both drivers were wearing safety restraints at the time of the collision.
