‘AZ Gives Day’ to help non-profits like Friends of Oracle State Park

Friends of Oracle State Park will be among hundreds of non-profit organizations across the state participating in Arizona Gives Day on Tuesday, April 7.

The 24-hour online event encourages caring citizens to pledge a minimum of $10 in financial support to those non-profits they feel passionate about. On April 7, persons are encouraged to visit www.AZGives.org and type “Friends of Oracle State Park” in the search box, or go online anytime before the date and schedule an April 7 donation in advance. All major credit cards are accepted on the easy, secure website, and all donations go directly to the organization. Additional cash prizes will be awarded by the event sponsor to rural and small organizations which have the most contributors of any amount.

Friends of Oracle State Park provides direct funding for nature- and family-centered special events, hikes, lectures, concert, and art workshops held at Oracle State Park Center for Environmental Education. Friends also supports “sky party” astronomical and telescope viewing events, provides dollars for preservation of the historic Kannally ranch house, and helps fund maintenance of parklands and multi-use trails.  Friends of Oracle State Park provides funding the state doesn’t. More at www.FriendsOracleStatePark.org.

This is the first year FOSP, a tax-exempt non-profit, has participated in Arizona Gives. Last year, Arizona Gives raised $1.5 million, which had a sizable impact on the local communities. The event is organized by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and the Arizona Grantmakers Forum.
