On Thursday at approximately 5:30 p.m., a car engine caught fire in the parking lot of the lower Circle K. It was reported that the driver heard a large pop as he pulled in next to the Circle K building. Smoke then began pouring from the engine compartment. The driver grabbed his little girl and a puppy out of the car and exited the vehicle. The Oracle Fire Department was called and put the fire out. They had to use wire cutters to open the engine hood as it was tied down with bailing wire. No one was injured.
