Women’s Expo: prizes, vendors and fun

During the months of February and March, women across the world are empowering themselves. In the Middle East and in Africa they take this chance for freedom of expression seriously. In the Copper Basin we see it differently because we already have those freedoms. Women are forming their own businesses, stepping up and helping with the family income and or embracing their own creativity.

Join the women of the Copper Basin Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hayden School District office lobby. The Copper Basin Women’s Expo got its start slowly and has become an activity young and old enjoy. For the admission of $3 or 3 cans of food you get an array of information and a chance to shop with your friends and neighbors who have ventured out and invested in products you just might want to buy.

The first 25 paid admissions get a free bag filled with great items from vendors and sponsors plus one drawing ticket for the great prizes. Additional tickets can be purchased all day but you must be present to win. Some of the prizes are from Apache Gold Casino Resort with dinner for two and a round of golf for two; MP3 players; kitchen items; bath and beauty items. There just might be the every famous red stock pot that everyone wants to win.

Companies featuring their products are: Apache Gold Casino, ZORT, Pampered Chef, She’s Country Boutique, Native Air, Scentsy, St. Vincent De Paul, Copper Community Action Board, Central AZ Board, AVON, Perfectly Posh, Origami Owl, Mia’s Cakes and Crafts, Mary Kay, Melalucca, Young Living Essential Oils, EBAY, Cobre Valley blood pressure checks and sugar snacks, local author Georgie Woods, Girl Scouts, and a split-the-pot for the Hayden Schools Washington, DC school trip. Carnival Presale tickets for Pioneer Days will be available also.

Speakers throughout the day are: Iona Dease – PTSD What is it; Martina Burnam – mediocre meditation; Edward Aguirre – Healthy eating = healthy living; Hayden Police Dept. personal safety.

The Pioneer Days Queen contestants Fashion show begins at 1 p.m.; concessions all day will be sold by the Hayden PTO. The event will be held inside the Hayden School District Office Lobby with booths in and around the mini auditorium.

This event is under the direction of Martina Burnam and sponsored by the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce, ASARCO, Resolution Copper, Gordon’s IGA, Ray Federal Credit Union, Town of Winkelman, Apache Gold Casino and Resort, and Hayden School District.

See you there as you support your hometown entrepreneurs who have taken a chance to start their own businesses.
