Now that the students are all settled in the classes and things are going well it’s time for reflection. CVIT is proud to announce that their eight college programs (Central Programs) are doing better than ever. “We have experienced 43% growth in our first year student enrollment. We have introduced the brand new Construction Technologies program that is held at Regional Training Center of Gila Community College. “We are continuing to base our programs on strong curriculum and rigorous instruction,” said Beata Tarasiuk, CVIT’s Executive Program Director. Students and families recognize the quality that CVIT provides and it shows in our student count, which continues to grow from year to year. “Last year we were awarded over $60,000 in grants that allowed us to invest in students’ education and provide opportunities that were not available previously,” said Pete Guzman CVIT’s Superintendent. Thanks to Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, CVIT was able to fund transportation for Globe and Miami students to their college programs. “We found that transportation is a big issue in our communities,” said Beata Tarasiuk. By pulling resources together, working with Globe and Miami School District’s superintendents and Freeport Foundation, CVIT was able to fund much needed transportation for underserved students of Globe and Miami. The goal of the transportation grant was to break barriers to education and provide equal opportunity for all students to participate in very popular Central Programs like: Fire Science, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Construction Technology, Welding Technology, Graphic Design, Cosmetology, and Pre- Engineering Geology. Students who complete two year programs are ready to enter the workforce with a college Certificate of Proficiency and/or industry certification. Students are employable and ready to contribute to society. Many of CVIT’s graduates continue their education to Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Advanced Degrees.
