An accident Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, in Oracle sent two to the hospital according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.
The two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of SR 77 and Rockliff Blvd., Oracle, at 4:05 p.m.
According to DPS, a passenger car was traveling eastbound along Rockliff Blvd. and failed to yield at the stop sign at SR 77. The car struck the passenger side of a pickup truck that was traveling though the intersection. The vehicles came to a final rest outside of the intersection with extensive damage to the front end of the car and the passenger side of the truck.
The driver of the passenger car was identified as a woman, 88, of Oracle. She was flown to University Medical Center in Tucson by Air Evac 5 with serious injuries. The driver of the truck, identified as a man, 53, of San Manuel. He was transported to University Medical Center by Southwest Ambulance.
The woman was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
