The Sweet Spot held its grand opening on Sunday, May 18. There was a very good turnout of people who came to sample the baked goods and specialty coffees and smoothies. The new bakery and coffee shop is owned by Ramon and Angie Sanchez and Isabel Austin.

The Sweet Spot serves up cupcakes, cookies, banana bread, scones, and brownies. They will slowly add things to their menu like other sweet breads such as pumpkin, cinnamon rolls and coffee cake. The bakery also does custom cakes for those special occasions such as graduation. They can make practically any type of cake you want and decorate it with your kids favorite cartoon character or your favorite sports team. The made-to-order cakes need at least a two day notice.

Coffees and cold coffee drinks such as espressos, caramel machiatto, lattes, and frappes including fat free are available. Other cold drinks include fruit smoothies, green, black and chai tea or tea with lemonade. They also have regular coffee and caffeine coffee drinks. They serve coffee free cold beverages such as a vanilla bean or chocolate chip frappe.

The Sweet Spot is open on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are closed on Wednesdays. It is located at 505 McNab Parkway, next to Romo’s across the street from the high school. To call in an order or for more information contact them at 520-235-3748. Look for them soon on Facebook.
