The Lady Lobos suffered a heartbreaking one-run loss to 7th-seeded Desert Christian last weekend, 4 – 3. After upsetting 10th-seeded Paradise Honors in first round, the Lobos’ season ended with the second-round loss to the Eagles.
Despite the loss, the Lobos had a successful season. They came on strong at the end to reach to State Championship playoffs and barely missed out on advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Lobos won four of their last five games, including the playoff games. They also won four of their last five regular season game. The hot streak at the end of the regular season is likely what propelled the Lobos into the playoffs.
With the experience of competing against the top teams in the state, the Lady Lobos are looking forward to advancing even further next year.
