The April Kearny Town Council meeting was business as usual as the council handled a few housekeeping agenda items and also approved town staff to acquire a surplus police vehicle from the Town of Thatcher and utility truck from Arizona Public Service.
It was during the call to the public that Mayor Hossler announced that Councilmember Brad Richards had submitted his resignation to the council due to family and work commitments. Mayor Hosler thanked Richards for his service. At the close of the meeting during staff reports, Chief Bob Inguilli read his letter of resignation, in his letter he state that he and his wife have determined that it is time for him to retire from public safety. Ingulli’s resignation will take effect at the end of May or once the state retirement systems provides him with a date of retirement. Councilmember Richards resignation was effective immediately.
Both resignations were not action items on the agenda. The council will determine the course of action to fill both positions at a future meeting.
Mila Besich is a resident of Superior with two children. She volunteers for many local organizations. She is an experienced fundraiser and event planner for Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition. She covers some of the area town councils and schools.
