On November 7, 2013, I received Applications for Serial Numbers, from Mr. Bob Sloan and requesting petitions for Mayor Alvaro Barcelo, Vice Mayor Rogina Medina and Councilman Juan Barcelo.

On February 21, 2014, petitions for recall were submitted to my office filed on Mayor Alvaro Barcelo, Vice Mayor Rogina Medina, and Councilman Juan Barcelo.

On March 4, 2014 I personally delivered the petitions for signature verification to the Pinal County Elections Department. On or about the 14th day of March, 2014, I received via Certified Mail, from the Pinal County Elections Department notification indicating there were sufficient signatures for a recall.

On March 20, 2014, notification of the recall petitions were sent to Mayor Barcelo, Vice Mayor Medina and Councilman Barcelo, and allowing them to resign within five (5) business days or a recall election shall be call.

Please be advised that I have not received letters of resignations from any of the Council Members named in the recall, therefore, an election is being called, and scheduled for the Primary Election on August 26, 2014.
