The Superior High School Robotics team competed at the western regional FIRST robotics competition at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix this past weekend.
Superior’s team competed against 34 other teams from throughout the southwest, including teams from nearby states of California, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, Utah and Mexico. The teams were competing for a spot at the world championships to be held in St. Louis later this summer.
Superior placed 31 out of the 34 teams. Also competing from the local area were San Carlos High School and Globe High School, their rankings were not available at press time. The three robotics teams are sponsored with funding from Resolution Copper Company.
