It is time to recognize and honor the 2014 Citizen of the Year. This recognition is sponsored by the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce.

The following guidelines are used in the selection process and must be included in the nomination letter:

• The nominee must reside in the Copper Basin Area.

• Only one nominee per letter, however husband wife teams may be nominated together. No groups.

• Submit a complete description of the activities in which the nominee has participated, especially the most notable.

• The person making the nomination must be available to speak to the qualifications when the selection committee meets.

• Former COY’s are not eligible

All nomination letters must be signed and delivered to the chamber office in person or mail to Box 206, Kearny, AZ 85137.

The deadline for submission is Friday, Feb. 6. All nominees will be featured in the Copper Basin News prior to the Chamber’s Annual Business meeting and Citizen of the Year (COY) Recognition dinner which will be Monday, Feb. 23.

Other related Chamber news is that the annual membership drive and board selection is underway. The Women’s Expo will be Feb. 28 with the Pioneer Days Queens Fashion Show during the event. It is a great way for local entrepreneurs to feature their business.

Pioneer Days is March 12-15. Queen contestants have already started their meetings with a few days left to sign up.
