Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a blood drive with United Blood Services on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. –1 p.m. on campus in the MOB Conference Room. You are invited to donate. Donating blood is safe, simple and saves lives.
CVRMC receives all blood products from United Blood Services. “Until the mid-1900’s, blood was transfused exactly as it was collected—in its “whole” state. Today, blood can be separated in several components, such as red cells, plasma, platelets and cryoprecipitate. Since most patients require a specific blood component, a single donation can benefit several people!” (United Blood Services)
You can enter your health history the morning of the blood drive at www.UnitedBloodServices.org/HealthHistory.html. Be sure to bring in the “Fast Track” donation ticket when you come in. This will save you time when you come in to donate.The option of filling out your health history at the event will also be available with the assistance of the team from United Blood Services. Please bring your photo ID and donor card. Free cholesterol testing is available with every donation.
