After starting the season with three-straight losses, the No. 8-ranked Superior boys’ basketball team won three games in-a-row last week, defeating Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, Bowie/San Simon and North Phoenix Prep.
Junior Steven Ybarra starred in the Panthers’ 69 – 54 victory at Bowie/San Simon last Thursday, scoring 26 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Kale Major added 12 points and six rebounds.
Cedric Mendoza and Jared Moreno pulled down 18 and 10 rebounds, respectively, to help the Panthers to a 59 – 42 advantage on the boards.
