Boys’ basketball– The Miners’ went 2 – 1 in the 2015 San Manuel Holiday Classic, defeating St. Augustine and Hayden on Jan.2 before losing to Arizona College Prep on Jan. 3. The Miners, who are 2 – 0 in sectional play, returned to action on Jan. 6 in a non-sectional matchup against Academy of Tucson. They’ll play three straight opponents within their section beginning Jan. 7 at Gilbert Classical Academy. Upcoming schedule: Jan. 9 vs. The Gregory School and Jan. 13 at Baboquivari. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Girls’ basketball– The Lady Miners went 4 – 1 in the 2015 San Manuel Holiday Classic, losing to Coolidge in their first game of the two-day invitational on Jan. 2. They reeled off four straight wins after that, defeating Hayden on Jan. 2 and then winning three games in-a-row on Jan. 3 against San Miguel, Immaculate Heart, and then Coolidge, to avenge the loss a day earlier. Upcoming schedule: Jan 7. at Gilbert Classical Academy (4:00 p.m.) and Jan. 13 at Baboquivari (5:30 p.m.).
