It was a blast from the past for a group of San Manuel Seniors.

In October, Mel’s Diner in San Manuel hosted 50s Night for the San Manuel Senior Citizens as part of the group’s theme night fun.

The seniors brought their own “Juke” box and had a nice evening listening to some oldies, dancing and enjoying some of Mel’s wonderful food. Mel’s has been a San Manuel favorite since 1967.

The San Manuel Senior Citizens have a theme dinner on the second Thursday of the month. The club has 30 regular members and when the winter visitors show up it grows to 50. They keep busy with different activities and have guest speakers attend some of their events.

During the September theme dinner night, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles presented the San Manuel Senior Citizens a check for $1,000. President Dorothy Staggs accepted the check on behalf of the seniors.
