The Mammoth Public Library Summer Reading Program 2015 celebrated the end of the summer program on Friday, July 3, with a Community Heroes Presentation. The kids in the program presented Certificates of Recognition to the Mammoth Volunteer Fire District, Police Department, Public Works and Town Council. Librarian Sharon Christiansen said they wanted to “acknowledge the people who keep our town going.”
The kids interacted with the firefighters, public works employees, Mayor Jones and Vice-Mayor Wickham. They enjoyed sitting in a fire engine and blasting the siren on the truck.
John Hernandez lives in Oracle. He is retired and enjoys writing and traveling. He is active in the Oracle Historical Society. He covers numerous public events, researches historical features and writes business/artist profiles.
