Voters in Mammoth will have the opportunity to voice their choice for Council in August.

Voters in Mammoth will have seven candidates to choose from in the upcoming council election; four seats will be open in the upcoming election.

Vice Mayor Frances Wickham along with council members Joseph Brewer and Bob Sloan will be seeking re-election.  Current Mayor Don Jones will not seek re-election to the council and is running for District 1 – Pinal County Supervisor; he will face Pete Rios in the Democratic Primary on Aug. 30.

Local residents Joe Dietz, Francis Amparano, Bart Goss and Alvaro “Al” Anaya will also be running for the four council seats.  Candidates will need to get 51 percent of the votes to win their seat.  Should three candidates not earn the qualifying percentage on Aug. 30, a run-off for the seats will be held at the November election.

The Council will appoint a new Mayor in January once the new council terms begin.
