A beautiful soul has joined his brother in heaven. Joseph Alvie Benavidez passed away May 5, 2016.

Joey loved the simple treasures in life: the outdoors, the desert, and his family. His best days were spent fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and the occasional rattlesnake bite. He passed on all of those loves to his daughter (except for the bites…). He didn’t need much, because he was smart enough to recognize that life isn’t about the material things, it is about embracing what makes you happy. He was loved by all, because he was easy to love. Joey left us suddenly and unexpectedly, and that shock will leave many without.

He leaves behind his wife, Christine Oberth; daughter, Tamyia (Brett Masek) Benavidez; grandchildren, Nicholas and Camille; parents, Tommy and Medith Benavidez; sister, Theresa Benavidez; sister-in-law, Nita Benavidez; nieces, Amanda Benavidez and Tamanique Cooke; nephews, Jake Benavidez, Daniel Benavidez and Cole Benavidez; as well as countless cousins and friends.

Services for Joey will be on Saturday, May 21, 2016, Oracle County Park in Oracle, Arizona at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at The Ore House at approximately 1 p.m.

  Memory Eternal.
