Friday night lights: San Manuel routs Falcons

  The San Manuel football team improved to 2 – 1 following its second-straight victory, a 49 – 7 rout of Veritas Prep last Friday night.

  Sophomore quarterback Caleb Quintero earned Offensive Player of the Game recognition after completing 14-of-17 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns.

  Running back Christian Velasquez, the Overall Player of the Game, finished with 153 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Special Teams Player of the Game Benny Laguna also added a rushing touchdown.

  On defense, the Miners had nine sacks, including a team high three by Luiz Chavez. Defensive Player of the Game Fabian Russo and Michael Ochoa added two more while Gabe Velasquez and Armando Estrada had one apiece.
