Copper Corridor basketball players garner postseason honors

Copper Corridor Teams

  The conclusion of the 2017-18 basketball season means the release of postseason honors by several publications and organizations throughout the state. Players in and around the Copper Corridor area were recognized for their performance this season.

  The Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) recently released All-Conference and All-Region honors.

  The following is a list of players, by team, who received recognition for their efforts:

Boys

Ray

AIA 1A All-Conference Honorable Mention – Stone Patterson.

AIA 1A East Region 1st Team – Stone Patterson.

AIA 1A East Region Honorable Mention – Nathan Molar, Jaden Pace, Fabian Valenzuela, and Richard Valenzuela.

Hayden

AIA 1A East Region 2nd Team – Robert Bohrn.

AIA 1A East Region Honorable Mention – Robert Manriquez, Maria Mariscal and Frankie Valencia.

Superior

AIA 1A East Region 2nd Team – Cedric Mendoza.

San Manuel

AIA 2A South Region 2nd Team – Caleb Quintero.

AIA 2A South Region Honorable Mention – Jose Moreno and Javy Tamayo.

Andrew Luberda began writing for Copper Area News Publishers (CANP) in February 2013 after working 15 years in Healthcare Financial Management. Andy covers sports for 11 high schools. His stories are published in Copper Basin News, San Manuel Miner and Superior Sun, in addition to the San Tan Valley Daily PRSS and CopperArea websites. Additionally, he has written human interest stories and business profiles. In May 2012, he earned an AAS in Sports Management at Central Arizona College before graduating with a BS in Communication from Arizona State University in 2014.
