Udon McSpadden has been in the car sales business since 1970 but he grew up in the industry.  His father Udell McSpadden owned a car dealership in Oklahoma before the family moved to Arizona.  The family owned and operated dealership sells new Ford vehicles and has a variety of certified preowned vehicles of many makes and models.

They are one of the last few full service dealerships in the Cobre Valley area.  They have a full service auto body, parts and service department at their dealership.  As the years have gone on, the McSpaddens have done their best to keep up with the times.

“Everything is automated,” explained Udon.  Their website offers many of the features of the larger dealerships and they can arrange financing online as well.

Buying a car can be challenging process. The team at McSpadden strives to help their customers find a car that fits their needs and budgets.  Udon recommends that buyers look at what they will pay for doc fees and sales taxes.  The City of Globe offers a tax incentive to car buyers at McSpadden – the sales tax is only applied to the first $15,000 of the vehicle cost.  There is also no doc fees at the dealership.

“That is a savings of $1,000,” explained Udon.

They often have customers that come from Phoenix and Mesa to purchase their vehicles as well as get their vehicles services.

“They appreciate the friendly service,” he said.

The McSpaddens are expanding their operations to the corner of US 60 and Broad Street (where the railroad crosses over the road). The new location will feature the sales office along with the new and used car lot.  The existing lot will be remodeled to expand the service department.

Udon’s business advice: “In our copper mining areas, we have to watch the price of copper.  You have to bet on what is here today, not on what’s to come.  Save during the good times for the trying times” he said.
