  Viola Teresa Vargas, better known as Teresa, 81, of Mammoth, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Teresa was born on June 3, 1941, to Pedro and Apolonia Borboa in Tucson, AZ.  

   Teresa enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was one to share love and wisdom so freely, especially when music was involved. She could be caught singing out loud with the radio or impromptu dancing with her Viejo. 

  Teresa was well known in the Mammoth community. It was a community where she made friends that turned into family. She loved her community family and every minute spent in Mammoth. She loved to pass on her wisdom and love to anyone who would listen. 

   Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Javier Vargas; her sibling, Eddie Borboa; and her children, Denise (Estrada) Ramirez and son-in-law Rick Ramirez, Roy (Woody) Estrada, Cynthia Estrada, Laura Estrada, and Lorian Castaneda. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Ramirez, Christi Diana Ramirez, CJ (Cynthia) Buchanan, Luisa Castaneda, Julio Garcia Galvez, Alexandrea Estrada, Kiana Mariah Estrada and Royann Estrada;  6 great-grandchildren, Christian Ramirez, Nevaeh Ramirez, Mila (Reyna) Calmese, Juvall (King) Callmes, Braydan Estrada, Beau Estrada; and many nieces and nephews.

   Services for Teresa were held Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery.

  The family was assisted with exceptional service by Griffith Mortuary, Kearny, AZ.
