The Bearcats never gave up, persevering against a tough team.

The Ray football team kicked off their official 2022 season with an away game against St. David. The final result of the game was a tough 0-42 loss.

“It was a tough loss at St. David,” began head coach Jay Wernett. “They are a very good team, and a team we strive to be like. We have a very young team. With that being said, the young men on this team continue to work hard. We may not have won the game, but I am pleased that the kids never quit, and continued to play hard until the end. They showed a lot of heart and hopefully we can fix some things, and focus on getting better every week!”

The Bearcats will travel to face off against the Valley Union Blue Devils on Friday, Aug. 26, with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.
