Just like a cloud of dust, the Copper Classic race came and went.

As the race passes each year, the interest in it seems to get bigger. For the 2022 race, the Trail Riders of Southern Arizona (TRS) saw much more growth. They provided their largest AA Pro Racer payout of $1,500 to the top three finishers and paid $200 for the fastest racer who completed the fastest test.

The 2022 race also saw a new record donation of $3,780 to the San Manuel School District and $1,000 to the San Manuel Fire Department.

“Events such as this depend heavily on club volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Without them none of this would have been possible,” said TRS President George Wysopal. “Tail Riders of Southern Arizona is already thinking about next year’s race.”
