Nine different players scored for the San Manuel boys’ basketball team in last Tuesday’s game at Santa Cruz, but the balanced attack did net (pun intended) the results the Miners desired in a 69 – 67 loss to the Dust Devils.
Junior Michael Ochoa and sophomore Javy Tamayo each scored a team-high 12 points in the loss. Michael Primero-Predgo and Hector Sierra added nine points apiece while sophomores Jose Moreno and Caleb Quintero finished with eight and seven points, respectively.
Ochoa, who shot 6-for-7 from the field, also had five rebounds, an assist and two steals in the game. Quintero and Fabian Russo were the Miners’ top rebounders with seven each.
Sierra and Tamayo led the Miners in assists with three apiece.
Up next: Dec. 19 vs. Immaculate Heart and Dec. 20 at Hayden. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
