Saying cool in the pool.

For all you swimmers and sun worshippers out there: the date draws nigh.

The San Manuel Pool will be opening SOON! Monday, May 29th to be precise.

The pool will be offering swimming lessons again this year starting Tuesday, June 6, at 9 a.m. The lessons are FREE thanks to a grant from SaddleBrooke Community Outreach. Lessons will run Tuesdays through Fridays with sessions starting every two weeks with two sessions offered at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. They are offered to anyone of any age. If you don’t know how to swim and want to learn, just come to the San Manuel Pool. The teacher is WIA certified through Red Cross to teach swimming lessons.

Students attending the Summer School Enrichment classes will receive swimming lessons in the afternoon. Summer school starts soon at First Avenue Elementary School. Summer school includes free breakfast and lunch for children ages zero through 18.

Admission cost at the San Manuel Pool is $1 for kids (children under 3 free with paying adult), $2 for adults (19-61) and $1.50 for seniors (62+). Season passes are available. Passes for the whole summer (June-September) are $50/single, $75/family (immediate only) and $40/seniors. Monthly passes are also available: $30/single, $40/family and $25/seniors.

Interested in renting the pool for a party? For after hour parties (when the pool is closed), the rental fee is $100 for the first hour and $50 for additional hours (three-hour minimum). For parties when the pool is open, cost is $75 for three hours and includes the use of the ramada, table and chairs, and a hot dog and drink for up to 25 people.

The pool schedule for the 2017 season is:

• Day Swim – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 2-5 p.m.

• Night Swim – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (when no parties), 6-9 p.m.

• Adult Swim – Beginning May 30, Tuesday through Thursday, 6:30-8:30 a.m. (If no swimmers show up to the pool by 7 a.m. the pool will close.)

A Back to School Bash is already planned for Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 6-10 p.m. with a movie, games and a DJ.

Visit the Community Schools on Facebook at facebook.com/MSMCommunitySchools for all the swimming schedules as well as updates on events and sports.
