The Superior boys’ and girls’ tennis teams have experienced some success this season despite a comparatively small roster.

The boys’ team is 4-7 overall with wins against Florence (2), San Tan Foothills and Duncan. The girls’ team is 7 – 4 and ranked 21st among 50 teams in Division III.

After three losses to start the season, the girls have won seven of their last eight matches, including their last four in-a-row against Duncan, Florence, Coolidge, and Gilbert Christian. Their lone loss in the last eight matches was against 13th-ranked Miami, which also defeated the Panthers in the season opener.

The boys’ roster includes Dominic Pera, Jesus Gonzales, Brandon Martinez, Matthew Hernandez, and Gabriel Lowery.

The girls’ roster includes Maribel Castro, Danielle Lopez, Jewel Meza, Eleana Ybarra, Ashley Lira, Danielle Banks, and Queenie Hing.

Both teams will wrap up their regular seasons this week.
