Mammoth Police Report – Aug. 3, 2016

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to the San Manuel Miner by the Mammoth Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

July 18

  Two Pitbulls attacked someone walking on the Highway 77 walkway.

July 19

  Police received a report of a German Shepherd biting a man on Second St.

July 21

  Two dogs were seen chasing a man on San Manuel Dr.

  A wanted man was seen jumping a neighbor’s fence.

July 22

  Suspicious activity was reported on Tiger Dr. A man was reported attempting to break into an abandoned house. The house was secured.

  A warrant team attempted to locate a wanted man.

  A party on Owens Pl. called to make a complaint of litter blowing into his yard.

  A party on Owens Pl. called and reported that his nephew was being threatened by three people.

  Suspicious activity was reported in an abandoned home on Bluebird St. Officer responded and could find no one at the building.

  Suspicious activity behind the courthouse was reported. Someone was seen with a flashlight shining on a trailer. An officer responded but no contact was made with suspect.

  A suspicious group of people were reported outside the parking lot across from the courthouse. An officer responded but group was gone.

July 24

  A party on Rolfs Ave. reported that his son was harassing him. An officer attempted to make contact with the son but was not successful.   

  Calls not listed include: medical assist (16), vacation house watch/welfare check (1), fingerprints (3), animal complaint (3), fire (1), funeral escort (1) and traffic stop (6).
