Senior right-handed pitcher Rickey Longoria threw a no-hitter in Superior’s 11 – 0 victory against Duncan last Thursday.
Longoria, making his third start of the season, pitched six innings and faced 20 batters. He struck out 13 Wildkats’ hitters and walked three in the complete-game victory, his fourth of the year.
Senior Matthew Zavala had three of the Panthers’ 12 hits in the game, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Elias Olmos, a junior, also went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Nicolaus Cruz had two hits, including a double, the Panthers’ lone extra-base hit. Eric Oatis had two hits and two RBI in the game.
Upcoming schedule: Mar. 19 vs. Desert Christian and Mar. 24 vs. San Carlos. Both games are scheduled for 4 p.m.
