Ray Junior High Softball record two more wins

The Tigers of Globe came into town Monday to face the Ray Bearcats for their second game of the season. The Bearcats started where they left off against Mt. View by kicking off the first inning with 6 runs, followed by 1 run in the second inning, and 3 runs in the third inning leading to a 10-run ruled shortened game. At the end of four innings the score was 10-0. The Bearcat pitching and defense was dominate this game, not giving up a hit through four innings. Starting on the mound was Daniella (6K, 1W, 0 H) for three innings, and closing was Danni Monatano (2K, 0W, 0 H) for one inning. Offensively the Bearcats were led by Ema Alavarado (2-2, Dbl, 1 RBI), Naomi Hing (2-3, 2 RBI), Danni Montano (2-3, Dbl, 2 RBI), and Tara Lorona (2-3, Dbl, 4 RBI). Game ball went to Daniella Hinojos for P/Defense.

The Vandals of Miami came into town Wednesday for the third game of the season. The Bearcat bats still hot from Monday’s game started off the first inning scoring 5 runs, followed by 5 runs in the second inning led by an Ema Alvarado home run. The third inning the bats went cold only scoring 1 run. The fourth inning the Bearcats only scored 2 runs while the Vandals scored 2 runs in the third inning and 1 run in the fourth inning led by cleanup hitter Dee Spurgeon. The Bearcats woke up in the fifth and final inning scoring 5 runs to end the game with the score 18-3. Offensively the Bearcats were led by Ema Alvarado (3-4, Dbl, HR, 5 RBI), Julie Meza (2-3, Triple, 2 RBI), Daniella Hinojos (1-3, 2 RBI), Tara Lorona (1-3, 2 RBI), Rosalinda Garcia (1-1), and Danni Montano (1-2). Starting and closing on the mound wasDaniella Hinojos (6K, 0W, 0 ER) for five innings, and relieving was Danni Montano (1K, 3W, 1 ER) for one inning. Game ball went to the whole Bearcat team for total team effort.

The Bearcats will take two weeks off from games and return to the field to face the Hayden Lobos in Hayden, Wednesday, March 26.
