The Ray Jr. High 8th Grade girls’ basketball team finished its season undefeated while capturing the Championship last Saturday. Head coach Jason Cude and Assistant Coach Wayne Cude led the team in a season to remember.

The 8th Grade team is: Claire Cude, Savannah Rodriguez, Jada Zaragoza, Danni Montano, Emma Alvarado, Brandi Lopez, Isabella Mendoza, and Katlyn Gantt.

The 7th Grade team also can be very proud of its accomplishments on a successful season as well. They finished their season as runner-up after falling in the championship game.

The 7th grade team is: Myranda Figueroa, Kailey Gillaspy, Haily Rutter, Daniella Hinojos, Riley Cude, Julie Meza, Amee Kenyon, Tara Lorona, Jori Hudson, and Destiny Gonzales.

Congratulations to both teams for having outstanding seasons!

Editor’s Note: In last week’s Copper Basin News, a photo of the Ray Jr. Lady ‘Cats was published with information in the caption that they had lost to San Manuel. This information was in error and the Copper Basin News regrets the error. Our thanks to the parent who called our office alerting us to it. In our attempt to rectify the error, we tried to contact the Jr. Lady ‘Cats coach Jason Cude, but he did not return emails and did not contact us prior to press time. ~JRC
