There was no shortage of things to do this past weekend including the Superior Apache Leap Days. Visitors were able to enjoy entertainment such as carnival rides and games, Navajo Dancers, Chihuahua dog races, extensive mining competition’s, gold panning, music, food and entertainment for all to enjoy! The mining competition had a total of $2,000 available for the winner. Resolution Copper had representatives available to explain underground and open pit mining and to answer any other questions or concerns visitors may have. The gold panning opportunity was certainly a fun event to try.

This year’s festival was made possible by the premier sponsor, Resolution Copper Mining, and the Superior sponsor’s: M3, Lhoist NA, Nordic Minesteel Technologies, and Strategic Construction Solutions. There were many other companies and individuals supporting the event this year. The many vendors, volunteers, companies all working together to help make this another successful event!

The weather was perfect to be outside and enjoy all the entertainment. Some additional entertainment included shoot outs with the OK Chorale, Wyatt Earp, representing a life on the frontier, magic acts, animal acts, clown acts, and many more. There were events for all ages, young and the old, along with food and vendors galore! What a wonderful way to start spring season!

For future events feel free to call the Superior Chamber of Commerce at 520-689-0200, check their website superiorarizonachamber.org and follow or follow them on Facebook for more information.
